How to give notice to leave a rental property

If you wish to vacate the premises before the end of your current lease agreement, you will need to download and complete the Form 13 (Notice of Intention to Leave). 14 days minimum prior to the end of your tenancy agreement.

Breaking Your Lease

When breaking your lease you are responsible for all charges associated with the reletting of the property as well as ensuring the landlord does not suffer a loss during the fixed term. In a Break Lease situation the tenant is required to pay:

  • Rent until a new tenancy agreement commences or to the end of the fixed term agreement, whichever is soonest
  • All marketing costs incurred in securing a new tenant (At cost)
  • A Re-Letting Fee the amount of 1 (one) week's rent plus GST.
